Reports To: Project Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: Responsible for providing management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
  • Selects and coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
  • Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
  • Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
  • Supervises assistant managers, reviews their reports, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
  • Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated.
  • Reports to owners and architects about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field required.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and directing junior project managers, construction staff, projects and process.
  • Project Management, Supervision, Tracking Job Costs, Planning, Performance Management.
  • Must be a detail minded professional with the ability to organize, manage and coordinate design and construction activities of major projects, meet deadlines and have a minimum of 2 years of Superintendent experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with all applicable Florida building codes.
  • Experience working on hospitality, multi-family residential, or senior living facilities is highly desirable.
  • Have proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with completing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to remain focused, efficient and effective in managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly proficient with personal computers, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, clients, co-workers and management team.
