Staff Accountant Full-time Job

Summary/Objective

As a Staff Accountant at Validus Senior Living, you will be responsible for supporting a board spectrum of accounting functions, as well as basic payroll and billing functions, as assigned. As a member of the Finance Team, you will be handling all transactional functions to include; accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and will assist our financial operations in support of our communities.

Essential Functions

• Monitoring and processing vendor invoices from designated communities for payment and accuracy; creating and generating financial reports
• Maintain and manage all financial records, logs, spreadsheets, and registers
• Ensure the company’s banking operations; seeing to it that all funds are appropriately banked ensuring efficiency and returns
• Ensure conformity of company’ bank account with standards. Reconciling of bank statements against the GL, and clearing accounts assigned
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Being a subject matter expert in support of community operations, specific to financial accountability including AR, AP, Payroll and Billing
• Facilitating requirements, gathering with development team members and stakeholders
• Providing weekly status updates and coordinating change control protocols
• Testing and validating developed features against requirements

Work Environment

Works in a well-lighted area that is ventilated and is physically, physiologically and psychologically innocuous as possible under the conditions which exist at any particular time. On occasion, there may be exposure to outdoor spaces, which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects.

Certifications, Licenses, Education and Experience and other Special Requirements

To be considered for an interview, you must have: a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business OR an Associate’s Degree with several years of experience comparable to the Accounting role. Strong verbal and written skills.

To be interviewed you will likely also have: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced computer and technology competency, especially with Excel.

Must exhibit proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point; experience with applicant tracking databases is highly preferred.
