Position Title: Resident Care Assistant (PRN, Part-Time, or Full-Time available)

Overview: In the role of the Resident Care Assistant, this individual will attend to the daily care and medication needs of residents while maintaining a home-like environment that is clean, safe, and orderly. This position is intended to enhance the quality of life for Assisted Living residents or Home Care residents by providing regular and meaningful engagement. This position reports to the Assisted Living Manager or Home Care Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs all personal care activities (bathing, dressing, toileting/incontinence, shaving with electric razor, oral care) contained in a written plan of care developed by a licensed health care professional employee or contractor of the home health agency.
• Maintains a clean, safe and healthy environment for Clients. (i.e.; light cleaning, washing dishes, laundry [including ironing], care of pets, maintaining client appointments, medication reminders, etc.).
• Documents and submits accurate Weekly Care Notes.
• Confirms schedule weekly using an electronic scheduling and communication system that can be accessed from any mobile device or computer.
• Checks in and out for every assigned shift using the client’s home telephone or designated phone.
• Maintains confidentiality of Client, family and facility information.
• May provide transportation for clients as needed depending on shift hired for.
• Provides quality customer service in all interactions with clients, residents, guests and The Village staff.
• Responsible for executing instructions in client’s Plan of Care.
• Responds to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed.
• Responds to emergencies according to the needs of the client, including obtaining a 911 response, and in compliance with the Agency Emergency Management Plan.

You Have:

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• CPR and First Aide certification or eligible.
• If applicable, Medication Technicians must successfully complete The Village Medical Assistance Training, including return demonstration of skills and understanding in assisting residents with self-administration of medications.
