Job Details
The Compensation and Benefits Manager reports to the Vice President, Human Resources and is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, communication and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that the Total Rewards programs support the organization’s business objectives and meet all legal requirements across multiple states.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets and programs for organization.
  • Develops, reviews and up-dates compensation processes, job evaluation, job leveling, job descriptions, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive and bonus plan design and analysis.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and administers the annual salary planning program designed to align with compensation strategy and Pay-for-Performance culture.
  • Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans
  • Administers employee savings plans that may include the 401(k) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs. Responds to audits as needed.
  • Selects and manages outsourced providers as required to support compensation, benefits and wellness programs.
  • Ensures that salaries and benefits comply with the current legislation on a Federal and State level and compensation structure will yield the highest value for the organization.
  • Identifies trends and benchmarking data and implements new practices to align with Total Rewards strategy.
  • Participates in annual salary surveys and keeps track of prevailing pay rates to ensure competitive compensation plans.
  • Drafts job descriptions, job analyses and classifications.
  • Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs.
  • Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
  • Researches and compares incentive and commission compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses competitors plans and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organizations plans competitive and effective.
  • Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
  • Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Provides employee census, and other research and demographic information required to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers.
  • Recommend plan design changes and manages open enrollment annually.
  • Integrates new organizations through acquisitions into benefit plans.
  • Identifies and recommends carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience.
  • Monitors administrators and insurance carriers reports to ensure the organizations compliance with plan requirements.
  • Ensures the organizations and plans compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
  • Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Facilitates administration of employee leaves under FMLA and ADA.
  • Serves as back-up resource for process of payroll.
REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Finance or related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience administering compensation and benefits programs
  • Working knowledge of Employment law
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Excellent understanding of job evaluation and job analysis systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements
  • Current knowledge of Employment Law
PREFERRED
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Intermediate experience with PowerPoint and Excel
