Position: ALF Dining Supervisor

Location: Vicar’s Landing, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

Position Status: Full-time

Details: The primary purpose of your position is to supervise, train and direct all Assisted Living Dining Services staff and oversee and assist the execution of all services and functions related to the Assisted Living Dining Services.

Essential functions include: Train, supervise and direct waitstaff. Assure that proper techniques are used in serving the membership. Plate up meals as orders are placed, being aware of presentation, accuracy of order and portion sizes. Prepare or cook short order items. Assure daily and scheduled cleaning duties are performed and clean as you go is enforced. Assure food is properly stored, labeled, covered and dated. Assure that all food storage spaces are properly arranged and clean. Assure that all equipment is clean and sanitary. Obey and enforce all safety and sanitation guidelines set up by Dining Services Department, Vicar’s Landing as well as federal, state and local laws. Maintain assigned work standards in a safe and sanitary condition. Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code. Assure that all Members are pleased with meal and service. May have to go into Dining Room if there is a problem.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write and speak English, perform simple arithmetic and follow oral instructions in English. General working knowledge of RDA and special diet restrictions.
• Ability to interpret and explain the menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate the meal service process and respond to requests.
• Must be able to lift and carry a 30 pound service tray 30 feet.
• Must be able to bend and pick up items from the floor, reach above head to remove items from shelf.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with Members, guests and staff with courtesy, tact and graciousness.
• Must possess the fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service table service technique, personal hygiene and appearance.
• Experience as a waiter in a fine dining or retirement environment, and
• supervisor experience preferred but not required.
• Cook and prepare soup.
